Porgy's open Friday: Bluefish are almost here

Posted by Matt Stone at

We have had some locals reporting of some early bluefish action off the local docks, thier small but hey their fish.

Loads of bunker to be found in the bay assuring Bass and Blues are not far behind.

The porgy season opens on may1st, we will have a full compliment of hooks, rigs, worms and clams Now in stock.

On the fresh water scene,  trout action is still very good.  The baits of choice are night crawlers, trout worms or wax worms. Lures continue to produce well, Kastmaster, thomas lures, super vibrax,  will all do fine.

This weeks tip:  Spin fishing for trout, try using an adjust a bubble float with about
5 feet of line with either a dry fly, or a wet fly.  Great way to tempt the timid trout.
