The weather has been getting warmer resulting in more fish moving into our local area. Reports have been coming in recently about catches of bluefish and schoolie bass. Most of this action has taken place at our local docks right here in Patchogue. Bait has landed the majority of these fish althought some have reported that they have taken a few bluefish on topwater lures. Baits of choice would be bunker and mackerel for the bluefish and sandworms as well as clam for the bass.
If you are looking for some flounder action, try to focus your efforts around shallow
muddy areas in the bay where the water warms up the fastest.Chumming is always recommended with sand worms being the best bait to use.
Trout in west lake also remains good. Fish from 14"-17" are being taken on night crawlers
as well as kastmasters and spinners. Also we now have shiners in stock.
