Bluefish invade Patchogue Docks...10lbs ++
Posted by John Mantione on
Bluefish have now invaded the bay! (Patchogue Docks and Sandspit )Yes thats right they are all over and everyone is catching. Fish are ranging in the 6-10 pound class with a few going around 12+pounds. These fish are hitting mainly bunker chunks and mackerel which we both carry down here at the shop as well as just about any sort of lure you want to throw. Get down there and hook up with one of these hard fighters for yourself.
Don’t Forget...Fluke Opens Sunday May 17th! Start stocking up on fluke rigs and bucktails now. We have a wide variety down at the shop. Don't forget to try out the new Spro squidtail jigs for fluke which we also now carry.
Striped bass are still being caught down at the bridges and local docks. These fish are still schoolie sized with some bigger ones also being caught. Larger fish should start moving in later this month. The usual assortment of soft plastics, swimming plugs, tins, as well as bait such as clam and bunker are all working.
