Posted by Montauk Matt on

Don’t Forget...Fluke Opens Sunday May 17th! Start stocking up on fluke rigs and bucktails now. We have a wide variety down at the shop. Don't forget to try out the new Spro squidtail jigs for fluke which we also now carry. The new regulations for Fluke 18” 5 Fish 5/17-9/21/14

Bluefish are in full force! They have taken over the bays, bridges,  inlets and ocean. Everyone is catching and the will hit just about anything you throw at them. Most of the action is taking place in the early mornings and the evenings.  Fish are still being picked away during the day.
Get out and go fishing because the majority of these fish are  8+ pounds and are very fun to fight.

Striped bass are starting to show more and more but there appearance it being covered by the mass amounts of bluefish that have showed up. I would recommend that the best time to target bass right now if you do not want interference from bluefish would be in the middle of the night.
Lures as well as bait would both be effective.

Porgies have also been showing up as well. Reports have been coming in with fish up to 3lbs. Peconic Bay is your best bet

 Don't Forget!
