Winter Fishing Activities

Its a tough time of year for all anglers , but that doesnt mean fishing is dead !
With the Cold weather here fishing in these tough condition can still produce fish if you put the time and effert 
white perch - are around in the local rivers and estuaries of long island , reports of local fisherman catching a couple of 
these elusive fish have been reported . Baits that have been productive to catch these fish are nightcrawlers on a jig head ,
small jig head with a curly tail , all these baits are in stock in our store for your needs 
trout - fishing has been slow , ideal locations to fish for trout would be west lake , swan lake , canaan lake , bubbles falls  and rattle snake creek. Nightcrawlers , dough baits , mepps lures , small kastmasters are top choices of baits when fishing
 for these trout 
Herring - many anglers have traited in the surf gear to catch some herring. The Herring bite has been "somewhat" productive
up on the northshores of long island . sabiki rigs are the ideal tackel used to fish for herring 
Our shop will be open year round just that their is a change to our hours over the winter , we will be carrying baits such as fresh water shinners, nightcrawlers , and still have some clam in stock for those cod fishing ! also remeber to bring your reels to be serviced before the spring !! as well as any rod repairs spring is just right around the corner.
