Many people took advantage of the nice weather we had last week by fishing. The majority of most fishing was in freshwater lakes but a few anglers had some luck in tidal creeks. Great Patchogue Lake was offering some decent pickerel fishing using live shiners and small gold tins. Live nightcrawlers fished under a float produced some nice sized yellow perch. Over as west lake wax worms fished under a bobber gave a you shot at holdover browns. A Patchogue Local reported he had some luck with a small gold kastmaster fished close to the bottom. Yellow perch were also abundent here as well.
As far as fishing in the creeks go, Tuthills creek had a few white perch getting caught in it. Nightcrawler worked best for them. Bubbles falls and rattlesnake creek both recently had decent reports of trout being caught. The best baits to use were nightcrawlers and berkley gulp baits.
The shop itself in now in winter hours mode. Hours are 9-5 Monday through Saturday and 9-3 on sundays.
