Winter Update...Fishing Shows...Think Spring!!!

Posted by Montauk Matt on

Most party and charter boats have been locked up due to ice and strong winds. When they are able to get out though the fishing have been consistant with cod. Locally, ice covered all the lakes last week giving ice fishermen a good shot at ice fishing. Using shiners or nightcrawlers at Great Patchogue, West Lake and other lakes in the area produced fish.

The Connetquot river has still been offering consistant fishing for those who have been working the beats. The cold weather slowed the fish down a bit but when the temps climb a little we will see a spike in fish activity again.

The shop itself in now in winter hours mode. Hours are 9-5 Monday through Saturday and 9-3 on sundays. In the next few months we will have booths at the following shows and flea markets... NYSF forum & auction at Freeport, Allpro Fishing Expo & Seminar, Ward Melville High School Saltwater Fishing Expo, and The Patchogue fihing flea market. Come down to these events, stop by our booth and say hi! Its always a plesent time and a good way to restock on needed tackle for the season.
