Reminder the fall Blackfish season opens on October 11th for the north shore and the 15th for the south shore.  The shop will be fully stocked with Blackfish Jigs, Rigs & Hooks and Green Crabs.

Albies are in full force at the south shore inlets. Consistent action on the incoming tides has let to some good fishing.....  In the Great South Bay there has been a surprising run of Weakfish in the last few weeks.

Our local docks like mascot, bluepoint, sayville, pine neck and beaver dam are all still holding plenty of snappers, crabs, blowfish and king fish. Snapper fishing has been excellent with many angles reporting the snappers are growing and are around 12 inches which is the perfect eating size. Blowfish are still loaded at the docks with bait like clam working the best. Crabbing has also been on fire with dozens of large blue claws being pulled up at all the docks

New York Saltwater FISHING REGISTRATION. . . (631) 654-2311   

All anglers 16yrs and older are required to register for saltwater fishing or purchase a license for freshwater fishing in New York State.

You need to register before saltwater fishing. It's easy and it's FREE for NYS residents and all visitors.  To fish our local lakes and ponds, a Freshwater License is required. Basically, a NYS resident Freshwater License is available to purchase for a days fishing ($5.00), a week ($12.00), or a season (one year from date of purchase for $25.00.-Senior [70 or older] $5.00. )  Additional discounts are available for active military, disabled vets and more...... Non-Resident Freshwater Fishing Licenses are also available for a fee from $10.00-$50.00.
