Columbus Day Fishing Forecast  • Striped Bass On The Move •Fluke Closes Soon-Blackfish Set To Open

Fall Fishing has began. The days have been fairly warm but the nights have been chilly. Bait is starting to move and  Stripers are feeding on them. The past days it has been tough for most boats to get out due to high winds but many surf fishermen have found a way to get into some fish. We have heard of some fish being taken into the 30 pound class.  Many are being caught anywhere from 28" to 31".   Anglers have been sucessful from the sand beach using sp minnows, bombers, darters, bottle plugs and needlefish as well as the inlets by using bucktails tipped with either a fat cow strip or a curly tail.  Rubber shads such as tsunami and al gags lures have also produced.

Breaking News.... Albies are making a showings at the inlets.  we received reports that anglers were getting "hookups" using Deadly Dicks, Joe Baggs Resin Jigs and Shimano Coltsniper jigs . Retrieve them fast along the surface to entice an Albie to hit.

The cool nights  are helping bring down the warmer water temperatures. This has been helping stripers become more active...

September Fishing Continues To Be Robust • "The Fisherman’s" Upcoming Show on October 9th • September Is Albie & Weakfish Time

Our local docks like mascot, bluepoint, sayville, pine neck and beaver dam are all still holding plenty of snappers, crabs, blowfish and king fish. Snapper fishing has been excellent with many angles reporting the snappers are growing and are around 12++ inches which is the perfect eating size. Blowfish are still loaded at the docks with bait like clam working the best. Crabbing has also been on fire with dozens of large blue claws being pulled up at all the docks
