Sea bass/ Cod: The primary targets for the anglers who wish to brave the elements and the rough seas , are black seabass and cod. Both of these fish taste great and are found relatively in the same areas, which are the off shore wrecks of the south shore and eastern long island. They will both hit clam baits on hi low rigs. Seabass closes on 12/31/20. The recreational season in federal waters is closed June 1 through August 31.   It will be some time before NYS regulations are consistent with this rule but anyone fishing in federal waters should be aware. READ MORE
Clam throughout the winter!
When the fishing slows down, or you want to change it up, remember you could go clamming throughout the winter months. All you need is a clam rake (Local Pick-up ONLY) and a pair of waders to get you in the water and enjoy some Long Island's local seafood. Baked clams anyone?
